What to bring

  • Notebook and pen
  • Incense burner with charcoal disk OR fireproof bowl
  • Natural fiber thread OR glass jar
  • Lose foraged herbs and plants*

*So, you may wonder what herbs and plants to bring? Now this is an excellent question, and I cannot give you a singular answer as it will heavily depend on where you live and what you have access too. I can tell you what I am bringing:

  • Mugwort
  • Juniper berries
  • Rosemary
  • Amber powder
  • Yarrow
  • Pine needles

If you would like to make a more easily accessible version here are my grocery store recommendations for a wintery incense blend:

  • Bay Leaves (used for cooking so most grocery stores have them in the spice section)
  • Juniper berries (optional, some grocery stores may have them)
  • Dried Orange skins (Peel an orance, and bake the skins on low-medium for one or two hours or until they are completely dried out)
  • Rosemary (common kitchen herb)
  • Kitchen Sage (common kitchen herb, not to be confused with white sage!)
  • Cinnamon, preferably sticks but ground works too
